Audio-Marathon*: Reading while Running
Open call for authors, columnist, journalists, bloggers
Deadline: February 15th 2022.
If you are an artist, columnist, journalist, blogger or you simply love writing, and want to participate in the preparation program for one of the races on the Belgrade marathon, or in the Prague Half Marathon, while listening to audio books, we invite you to apply for the second open call Audio-Marathon*: Reading while Running!
If you wish to apply, send us your resume, a writing sample and a cover letter on email prijave@krokodil.rs or info@running.rs by the 15th of February, and we will call you within three days for an interview.
During the three months of preparations, the participants will take part in a running book club, which will combine running, audio books and storytelling. During the training sessions, the runners will listen to audiobooks and/or texts which they will discuss in monthly book clubs/workshops that will be held by professionals in the fields of literature and psychology. Besides listening to audio books, the runners will also write texts about their experiences during the preparation for the marathon/half marathon or other races. These texts will be presented in the brochure that will be prepared for the XIV Festival KROKODIL.
KROKODIL Association’s project Audio-Marathon*: Running while Reading is part of the European project BE (P)ART GROW WITH ARTS, which is being realized with partner organizations from Spain, Belgium, and Hungary: PEN Català, UC Limburg, Szepirok Tarsasaga Egyesuleteuc i Fundación Uxio Novoneyra. The focus of activities in this three-year project is bringing literature closer to young people because of its key role in understanding the world, developing critical thinking and creative problem solving skills, as well as the beneficial influence of reading and physical activity on mental health.
The project is co-financed by the Creative Europe program of the European Commission. Implementation partner of the project is AK RUNNING.
